Research Project A01 Postdoc Fellow (2010/10/18)

High Energy Physics group of Nara Women's University invites applications for a postdoc to propel the "KAKENHI" (MEXT grant) research project "Research of exotic hadrons at B-factory experiment" which is a part of the program entitled "Elucidation of New Hadrons with a Variety of Flavors".

Number of position : one postdoc

The expected start of employment is April 2011, earlier is preferred if possible. The position is renewable annually up to 2014 March, depending on funding and satisfactory performance.

Ph.D in high energy physics or related research field is required, or if it is surely gotten by 2011 March 31st, the application is to be considered.

The successful candidate propels the physics analyses related to exotic hadrons using high statistics data accumulated by the Belle experiment, and is responsible to set up and operate the computing system in High energy physics group of Nara Women's University. She/he is also expected to be motivated to give a feedback to KEKB/Belle upgrade from his/her knowledge and experience.

The research project "Research of exotic hadrons at B-factory experiment" contains following items.
1. Studies of exotic hadrons with charmonium and charm mesons in B meson decays.
2. Search for pentaquark in B decays to baryon, anti-baryon and meson.
3. Studies of exotic hadrons in electron-positron annihilation.
4. Studies of exotic hadrons in photon-photon collisions.
5. Studies of exotic hadrons from Upsilon(1S) up to Upsilon(6S) region.
6. Studies of exotic hadrons in particle interactions with detector material.

The documents needed for application are as follows. (1) Curriculum vitae. (2) Possible timing to arrive at this position. (3) Contact details, i.e. name, title, name of organization, length and relationship with applicant, of the person who can give a reference. (4) List of publications. (5) Summary of research experience. (6) Statement of motivations and willingness for this position. (7) Major publication reprints (at most three).

To apply, please send your complete application package to: Kenkichi Miyabayashi, Department of Physics, Nara Womwn's University, Kita-Uoya-Nishi-machi, Nara 630-8506, Japan.
To contact, e-mail to miyabaya@hepl.phys.nara-wu.ac.jp in Japanese or English language, or +81-742-20-3388 (Phone at office).
Please enclose the above documents in an envelope and write "Application for Postdoc in High Energy Physics group" in red ink on the envelope. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Application deadline is 2010 Dec. 27th, it might be extended until the position is filled.
