“Search for the
Lepton Flavor Violating Decay $\mu\rightarrow\mathrm{e}\gamma$ in MEG
experiment”
Kenji Ozone
Abstract:
The MEG
experiment at Paul Sherrer Institute (PSI) is
currently underway
for an experimental
search for the Lepton Flavor Violating decay $\mu\rightarrow\mathrm{e}\gamma$.
The planned
experiment will utilize an intense surface muon beam,
together with a
gradient-field solenoidal spectrometer and a liquid
Xenon
scintillation
photon detector, to detect the positron and photon
from such a decay. The
goal of this experiment is to measure
the decay at a
sensitivity down to $10^{-14}$ and to verify
supersymmetric grand unified theories.
