We consider the deep inelastic scattering process

$\mu + N \to \tau + N'$ to investigate lepton flavor violation

between tau leptons and muons at a future neutrino factory.

We evaluate the cross section of the process in the framework

of supersymmetry, and study the enery and angular distributions

for the emitted tau leptons. The number of the signal events,

which are forwardly emitted hadronic products, is estimated,

and the outline of the background reduction is discussed.

We found that the intense high energy muon beam may provide

an useful opportunity to search lepton flavor violation in the tau-mu sector.
