A paper was published on Journal of High Energy Physics journal online

The paper titled "Search for the HH → bbbb process via vector-boson fusion production using proton-proton collisions at √s=13 TeV with the ATLAS detector"[DOI:10.1007/JHEP07(2020)108] was published in Journal of High Energy Physics journal online. Dr. Yuta Sano and Associate Professor Yu Nakahama (KMI) made huge contributions to this paper, as the main analyst and the analysis contact, respectively.

The analysis on the paper focused on the Vector-Boson-Fusion (VBF) process in the Higgs-pair productions for the first time in the world. Using the full Run2 dataset in the ATLAS experiment, it performed search for New Physics beyond the Standard Model, such as heavy Higgs bosons, as well as provided the first constraints on the coupling constant between two vector-bosons and two Higgs bosons (called k2v).

Studies using the Higgs-pair production events are getting even more attention both in experiments and theory, given great importance when understanding the Higgs potential in coming higher luminosity periods. The VBF channel is fully recognised as a unique probe in this new Higgs-pair world. Dr. Sano developed the dedicated analysis method - more results from the ATLAS collaboration to come with other final states. Please stay tuned!
