The laboratory will be open to the public at the 64th Meidai Festival on the following dates.
The theme is "Exploring the world of elementary particles with cutting-edge particle accelerators”.
Laboratory staff and students will explain in an easy-to-understand way the proof of Kobayashi Maskawa's theory at the KEKB accelerator/Belle experiment, and the discovery of the Higgs boson at the LHC accelerator/ATLAS experiment, which both led to a Nobel Prize. You can also experience part of these giant accelerator experiments through experimental demonstrations and virtual reality (VR).
