Dr. Hikari Murakami and Dr. Shota Izumiyama have been appointed as specially-appointed Assistant Professors at Kobayashi-Maskawa Institute (KMI) as of 1st April 2024. We have received comments from both of them and would like to introduce them here.
From Dr. Murakami
I have been studying Quark-Gluon Plasma (QGP) in the LHC-ALICE experiment.
The QGP is believed to have been a form of the early Universe that existed a few μs immediately after the Big Bang.
I have worked on direct-photon measurements to verify QGP production in small colliding systems.
In the Belle II experiment, I plan to study exotic hadrons.
From Dr. Izumiyama
I have been developing electronics for the Hyper-Kamiokande experiment under construction and measuring neutrinos coming from the reactor and space in the current Super-Kamiokande experiment before.
I would like to work on the TGC upgrade for the high-luminosity LHC-ATLAS experiment and on Higgs physics analysis.
