Transportation (Access to Nara)

Nara, a beautiful ancient city of World Heritage, is culturally and historically important place in Japan, which was the capital of the country in 710-784 A.D. There are numerous temples, shrines, statues, carvings and paintings, many of which are well-preserved and designated as important cultural assets and national treasures. Nara-Ken New City Hall, where this conference is held, is situated in the heart of Nara Park, where you can also find famous historical buildings such as Todai-ji Temple, Koufuku-ji Temple, and Kasuga Grand Shrine. Nara Park is also famous for its thousands of tame deer that friendly welcome the visitors.

Limousine Bus from Kansai airport to JR Nara station

This is the easiest way from Kansai airport to get to Nara city. You can take the bus every one hour. (Sometimes, every two hours. In detail, see the timetables below.) It takes approximately 85 minutes to Nara city.

Bus stops

At Kansai airport, you can get a limousine bus bound for JR Nara station at BUS STOP No.9. There are three bus routes at BUS STOP No.9. The limousine bus which goes to the central Nara city is called by `Nara-Sen' in Japanese.

The bus of `Nara-Sen' stops at Ichinomoto, Nara hotel, Kintetsu Nara station and JR Nara station. JR Nara station is the terminal bus stop. Mitsui Garden Hotel, where the reception is going to be held, is only three-minute walk from the JR Nara station.

You can find the bus stop outside the international arrival lobby at the 1st floor of Kansai airport. A map of the BUS LANE is available in this page.

Ticket vendor

You can buy the ticket only from the ticket machine near the bus stop No.9. At the moment only Japanese explanation is available on the front panel of the vending machine. Any inquires regarding access to Nara can be made at the Information Desk at the airport on the first floor in front of the arrival area.

Limousine Bus from Osaka (Itami) Airport to JR Nara station

When you arrive at Osaka (Itami) airport via Narita airport, you can easily get to Nara by this limousine bus. There are 4 bus-stops in the Nara city, Nara city-center, Shin-omiya, Kintetsu Nara-Station and JR Nara-Station. Mitsui Garden Hotel, where the reception is going to be held, is only three-minute walk from the JR Nara station.

Bus stops

When you arrive at the north terminal building of Osaka airport, you can take a limousine bus at the Bus Stop No.0 (zero). If you arrive at the South terminal building, you can find a limousine bus at the Bus Stop No.10. These bus lanes locate in front of the entrance of each building.
